A Look Back on TEDxRegina 2013

Nevin Danielson - Monday, June 24, 2013

We’re now a few weeks removed from our second annual TEDxRegina event. It’s hard to express how pleased we are with the results. There were impactful speakers, fascinating conversations, the buzz of interaction and a broadening awareness of the possibility that surrounds us.

We have an album of pictures from the event up on Flickr now. Our videos are in the final stages of production and will be released soon.

After our first event in 2012, Jeff and I were able to attend TEDActive in Palm Springs, California. We came back with a list of adjustments we knew were important in enhancing the TEDxRegina experience. That meant a lot of work for the TEDxRegina team but also an opportunity to share at least a small part of the transformative experience an official TED event provides. Revising our format, expanding our networking space and growing in size kept us on our toes leading up to TEDxRegina 2013.

As our event day was winding to a close, I found myself standing back to watch individuals – who had just met for the first time – engage in deep, passionate discussion about topics that matter. After having put in a lot of hard work, that moment felt like success. We also received a lot of positive feedback and numerous lessons we can take into future events. Thank you. We’ll continue to work hard to bring the speakers and the experiences you expect of a TEDx event.

A huge thanks goes out to all of our sponsors, speakers, volunteers, and attendees. Bringing people together through TEDxRegina is an inspiring and rewarding experience. It’s an opportunity to witness our engaged, passionate and optimistic community up close. We’re grateful that so many are willing to share their time and talents to make this event happen.

See you next year!
Nevin
